I think of this as a gift to myself as I approach my thirtieth year of life. I read a lot, and people say that writing is a form of self-therapy, that it can help exorcise the demons of the past. I don’t know if I really need any exorcism. I seem to have made peace with what happened to me all those many years ago. At least that’s how I feel, most of the time.

I used to be a refugee. I used to be the unwilling “comfort girl”, sex slave in my refugee camp. I’ve never told this story publicly. My friends and colleagues don’t know this, with one or two exceptions. And even with those few, I’ve never been as forthright as I intend to be with you, in our unbounded, totally intimate, totally anonymous relationship.

Jane:

I grew up in a good home. Loving parents, comfortably provided for, an elite girls’ school. You could say that I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth. And as I grew up, the world was handed to me on a silver platter.

My life was great. Only problem? I hated it. I had no idea who I was. I was a good girl all my growing up years, up until The Incident, and even then, I continued being a good girl after I “recovered”.

I never smoked, I never drank, I went to Sunday School. I never let the boys touch me. I always dressed decently. I never cursed. I stayed away from houses of ill repute.

No one told me that it wouldn’t make a damn difference. No one told me that I’d ended up raped of my virginity on my birthday, anyway.

I suppose that you would have read Rachel and Jane’s stories of how they came to be connected with my Master Sean Delaware.

I suppose that you would have heard how their paths happened to cross, how they happened to end up working together, occasionally submitting to my Master as their master.

I am invisible. Oh, they’ve seen me. They’ve dealt with me as Master’s business assistant. They know my name. But they don’t know me.

To them, I am just the girl who arranges “Sean’s” schedule, the person who brings him coffee.

They know my name, but they don’t know me. I am Master’s bondmaid. They don’t see me, but I see them. I have been watching them for a long time, before I conspired to bring them to Master as fresh offerings.

I am younger than them but I have lived so much longer. I have been Master’s bondmaid for more than a decade, whereas they have been his occasional submissive playthings for less than a year.
